Eldad and Ben Ari: Rav Melamed Sold Out For Real Estate

MKs (Ichud HaLeumi) Prof. Aryeh Eldad and Dr. Michael Ben-Ari released a statement that Rabbi Zalman Baruch Melamed capitulated; stating the values of settlement can be purchased with the value of real estate.
Rabbi Melamed, the mora d’asra of Beit El, reached agreement with the prime minister by which the planned resistance to the evacuation of the Ulpana homes would be canceled and instead, residents will leave voluntarily towards avoiding a confrontation similar to Amona and Gush Katif.

“One who does this paves the way for Netanyahu to cut settlement and to establish a Palestinian state in line with his vision. The entire idea foolish idea of sawing the homes was devised to save Likud from the photos of destruction which have become the party’s way, fearing the response on Election Day”.
As reported earlier, Rabbi Melamed agreed to have the families leave their homes voluntarily by next week’s deadline and in return, the prime minister remains committed to the construction of 300 additional homes in Beit El. In addition, the apartment buildings being evacuated are not going to be destroyed, but rather moved to the new location.

MKs: Money to 'Relocate' Beit El Homes - a Waste

MKs: Money to ‘Relocate’ Beit El Homes – a Waste

The money that is to be spent on taking five buildings in Beit El apart and relocating them, rather than simply destroying them, is a waste, MKs Michael Ben-Ari and Aryeh Eldad of Ichud Leumi said Wednesday. “This whole foolish idea of ‘uprooting’ the homes is intended solely to spare the Likud from the pictures of demolition that have become the norm for it,” they said.
“The money that Netanyahu plans to waste on ‘uprooting’ is a waste, and it should be spent on those in financial need, the handicapped, and former soldiers instead,” the two added.

Ben Ari: Name a Terror Center for Tibi

MK Dr Michael Ben Ari responded to the request of MK Ahmed Tibi to avoid naming the Taibe Space Center for the late Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon. “Tibi once again has proven that a terror center should be named for him in space. There he can be a martyr without disturbing anyone, and he can take MK Hanin Zuabi up there with him.”

MK Ben-Ari: Settlers Are State's Punching Bag

Commenting on the removal of residents of a building in Ramat Migron early Sunday, MK Michael Ben-Ari (National Union) said that border police and top officials were going out of their way to make life difficult for innocent people – among them a couple that had been married only a few weeks and were living in the building in Ramat Migron.

“Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Public Security Minister Yitzchak Aharonovich are turning residents of Judea and Samaria into the 'punching bag' of the legal system,” Ben-Ari said.

MK Ben Ari: Avoid Beit El Provocations

MK Dr Michael Ben Ari (National Union) calls to the Defense Ministry personnel to avoid provocations with unnecessary antagonistic Beit El visits.

“They wouldn’t dare approach Rahat or Umm al-Fahm. The ministry should avoid fanning the flames.”

National Union MKs tour a-Tur neighborhood in east Jerusalem for "security check."

National Union MKs Michael Ben-Ari and Arieh Eldad toured the a-Tur neighborhood in east Jerusalem on Sunday afternoon in an effort to “test” the security of the area around the Mount of Olives cemetery, which has been the scene of frequent rockthrowing attacks against Jewish cars.

“We’re here to say that in every neighborhood Jews must be able to roam freely,” Ben-Ari said during the tour. “We’re embarrassed that we have to do this in such a media blitz, but we know that right after us someone is going to come and get rocks thrown at them,” he said.

“Jews are afraid to come here.”

Eldad called the stonethrowing episodes around the Mount of Olives “complete and utter neglect of police in east Jerusalem.”

“Every day people go to the Mount of Olives and are getting stoned and the police know this and aren’t halting this phenomenon,” he said.

Police did not give the MKs approval to demonstrate in the neighborhood, but they also did not stop the fiery MKs from taking a foot tour through the area.

Along the way, Ben-Ari and Eldad stopped in convenience stores to ask residents about the stone throwing. Ben-Ari openly mocked locals who claimed that local children weren’t involved in the stone throwing.

“They’re making problems, if there’s not quiet there are going to be more problems,” said one a-Tur resident named Edie.

“They’re making a big mess, what do they have to do here?” “This place is special to east Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives is holy to everyone,” he said. He dismissed claims that the security situation prevented Jews from coming to pay their respects at graves or attending funerals. “People from all over the world come here,” he said, pointing out the numerous tour buses passing.

There were no violent incidents during the MKs’ tour, due in part to the presence of at least 50 police officers along the main road of a-Tur.

Ben-Ari slammed the new Mount of Olives police station, where approximately 25 officers are stationed full-time, as being ineffective against the stone throwing. Eldad added that the rock throwing had thus far resulted in light injuries, but it could lead to tragedy.

“So far its ended in miracles, but it’s going to end in a lynch,” he warned

Ben-Ari removed from Knesset

Ben-Ari Removed from Knesset

MK Michael Ben-Ari (Ichud Leumi) was removed from Knesset on Wednesday as MKs debated the Regulation Bill. Ben-Ari had slammed Minister Benny Begin regarding the bill.

As he was taken out, he said, “You don’t build, you only destroy.”
The Regulation Bill would prevent the demolition of thousands of Israeli homes in Judea and Samaria. It is expected to be easily defeated after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu ordered his coalition to vote it down.
